We had the pleasure of co-hosting the glowiest of evenings last week, in collaboration with STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME!, Sqirl, and onefinestay. Take a glimpse into our event celebrating this newly launching eco-conscious brand.
To celebrate the launch STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME! in the USA, we teamed up with onefinestay and Jessica Koslow of Sqirl to put on a night of light bites and summer revelry. The setting was unreal, an incredible onefinestay property in the hills of Los Angeles' Nichols Canyon. Onefinestay has pioneered handmade hospitality and offers a unique new category of upscale accommodation, giving discerning guests the chance to stay in fine homes around the world (New York, Paris, London, Los Angeles) with attentive service. They even offer the creature comforts – like bedding, towels, toiletries, a personal welcome, and an iPhone for local calls, data and 24/7 guest services – as standard. This authenticity, individuality and the freedom to create your own experiences on your own terms as a traveller is a new definition of ‘luxury’ travel, and one that we're super excited about.
HOW YOU GLOW and onefinestay both launched in Los Angeles in 2013, and the arrival of STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME! to the City of Angels this summer was the perfect opportunity to collaborate. Three brands coming together to celebrate beauty, deliciousness, hospitality and mindfulness, last Wednesday’s event welcomed the LA community into one of their most beautiful properties. Guests got to know the natural bathroom products by STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME! while learning more about the life-enriching HOW TO GLOW lifestyle – all in a Buff and Hensman designed onefinestay house in the Hollywood Hills.
Without water there would be NO GLOWING whatsoever. Water is the foundation of life. Despite 70% of our planet being covered with water, only 3% of this water is pure drinking water, and mankind has access to only one third of this 3%. Be it at home or abroad, in restaurant or hotels, STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME! is an all natural, uplifting and chic reminder to do so. The line STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME! smartly encourages people to save water. As LA residents, we really resonate with this mission due to the current severity of the draught, but of course support the cause on a worldwide basis. Started in Germany and now launching in the USA, this cosmetic line increases awareness towards the conscious use of water. This is a valuable contribution for a more sustainable lifestyle, especially in countries that suffer from water shortage, that we really stand behind.
The face and force behind the line is Kaya-Line Knust, who grew up with the ideals of the hippie generation and sees STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME! as a contemporary example to promote sustainable environmental awareness in a modern and undogmatic way. STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME! products are made up of pure, non-synthetic fragrances, contain no preservatives, silicon, color, paraffin or other oil-based raw materials. The line uses natural essential oils, packaged in refillable bottles, and is derived straight from nature. With the exception of the "All Natural Lemon Honey Soap", which contains honey, all other products are vegan. With the GOOD WATER PROJECTS initiated on World Water Day 2014, the brand is supporting intelligent water protection and drinking water production projects. With the construction of fog nets in Tanzania in Africa, the first project has begun which can also be supported by customers.
