Poketo
We love Poketo; a beautiful shop filled with everything you need for your glowy lifestyle. The gorgeous artisan goods, locally designed specialty items, eclectic mix of creative workshops (anything from flower arranging and ceramics to calligraphy and cocktail making!) all housed in their downtown LA arts district flagship store, are the epitome of vibrant artistic living. Born from the belief that art should be present in everyday living, Poketo is an online destination and brick and mortar shop for design-driven wares that take art off the gallery walls and into people’s lives. Founded by husband-and-wife team Ted Vadakan and Angie Myung, Poketo (pronounced poh-KEH-toe) got its name through Angie’s Korean grandmother’s mispronunciation of the word “pocket.” Since 2003, Poketo has grown from a start up creative enterprise known for its limited-edition vinyl artist wallets into a leading lifestyle brand.
In 2012, Poketo opened its flagship shop / gallery in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles, one of our favorite neighborhoods in the city. The shop carries all of Poketo’s online goods and also features exclusive products that can only be found in-store, ranging from jewelry, pots, pan, cups, bags, stationary, and cutting-edge household items. The space also hosts art exhibitions with its ever-growing roster of local and international artists, in addition to incredible and creative workshops and other unique public events that change monthly. Poketo recently opened a second location at The Line Hotel in Koreatown, Los Angeles, which is also extremely glowy and the perfect place to pop into.
