It’s still summer, especially over here in LA, and this healthy recipe is the most refreshing treat to keep you quenched as the dog days roll on.¬†
Growing up, Tara’s mom would make cantaloupe slushies on the regular– just by simply blending cantaloupe and ice, that’s it! We were recently re-introduced to this summer delight by the glowing Shiva Rose, who made us her “melon agua frescas” before a lovely afternoon of Kundalini in her garden. Ever since, we’ve been sipping on these regularly and decided that we had to share this magical combination with you. Yes, they’re the perfect warm weather pick-me-up, but they can totally be enjoyed all year long, as fresh melon is easy to get throughout the year.
We decided to add a little extra something with the fresh lychee nuts. It gives the melon more of a floral flavor that’s kinda divine! The key to making this drink perfect is using ripe melon and fresh lychees.
CANTALOUPE LYCHEE SLUSH¬†
- 1/2 cantaloupe, roughly chopped
- 8 lychee nuts, peeled
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
1. Place all ingredients in a blender and pulse until just incorporated. Don’t over-blend because you still want there to be some tiny pieces of ice to make it slushy
